Fall Clinic moved to Moncton

MTA was set to host the Maritime IKD Fall Clinic at the Tantramar High School but due to a scheduling conflict the event will be moved to Moncton. The MTA club hopes to host the Spring Clinic in Sackville.

MTA Shotokan Karate to host Fall Clinic!

Sensei Norm Robitza waiting for confirmation on the Tantramar Regional High School for Dec 2. The Mount Allison club will be hosting the Fall clinic on that date, if the school is available. The schedule for the Fall clinic will also see a brown/black belt class in Amherst on Dec 1 at the Amherst Shotokan Karate Academy. The special guests for this year's Fall Clinic will be IKD Chief Instructor, Shihan Frank Woon-A-Tai, 9th Dan and his son, Sensei Ken Woon-A-Tai, 5th Dan..

Sensei Norm Robitza and Shihan David Pyke promoted!

Sensei Norm Robitza was promoted to Godan at the IKD World Honbu Camp in Haliburton, Ontario. He also received his D Level IKD Provincial Senior Instructor's Qualification. Shihan David Pyke was also promoted at the IKD World Camp. He now holds the rank of Hachidan (8th Black Belt).


MTA Karate Members gain Judge's Qualifications

Sensei Jolene Robitza and Andrew Wilcox passed their Judge's course. Sensei Jolene gained a D Level IKD Provincial Referee's license and Andrew earned his E Level IKD Dojo Referee's license.


Harry Griffiths earns Nidan

Harry Griffiths earned his 2nd Degree Black Belt from Shihan W. Dexter Shim, 8th Dan and Shihan Frieda Shim, 7th Dan in Moncton, NB. Also earning new belts were:

  • Justina Awe 7th Kyu (Orange Belt)
  • Sean Liu 7th Kyu (Orange Belt)
  • Wendy Tao 6th Kyu (Green Belt)
  • Laura Gill 4th Kyu (Purple Belt)
  • Dale Sherwood 4th Kyu (Purple Belt)
